Looking into the relationship between architecture and memory/rhetorics, the cabinet of curiosities, the chinese encyclopedia and Wilkins’ construction of categories and subdivisions in the search for a universal language, one comes across with Tarot Decks. Each being a construction of their own, Calvino, uses tarot cards as a literary machine for story constructing. With a limited number of constructions in hand, the combinations of these constructions creates inconsistent story constructions. The tarot decks become a machine. The question is of an architectural machine – or a deck of drawing constructions – constructing architectures.
